"Photographing Garden & Woodland Birds
Setting Up for Great Photographs"

All Levels

10am - 5pm, Wednesday, 3rd December 2008
with
Wildlife in Pixels & Bob Rigby Photographic Ltd

This workshop is designed to help you get the very best photographic opportunities you can from the common birds in your garden or in your nearest patch of woodland.

Your main time of opportunity starts right now, in the beginning of winter, when birds are hard-pressed to find enough food.

So if you can create an area or ‘feeding station’ where your feathered friends can find a plentiful and regular supply of ‘good grub’ then your opportunities are endless.

You’ll learn what proprietary feeders are best to use AND WHICH ARE UNSAFE to other wildlife, what feeds to use, how to make feeders from natural materials and where best to position for feeding station.

Feed station photography is all about tactics – getting the little darlings to land briefly where you want them to is a challenge to say the least!

And no one is more adept at side-stepping your efforts than this chap – the Nuthatch.

The whole beauty of feed station photography is that it not only gives you great photo opportunities but also extensive time to practice and experiment with your equipment and to develop techniques that work for YOU.

We’ll also look at the vital task of gaining control of the background as, like with macro photography, you are creating a tight working environment and recording large amounts of fine detail, so subject isolation from the background is critical if you are to achieve those great images.

There will be plenty of time throughout the day for any questions you have, in fact your questions are an integral part of the workshop so please feel free to “ask away”, and if you have questions that are not covered during the workshop PLEASE feel free to ask during the coffee and lunch breaks, or after the course has concluded for the day.

It is our sole endeavour to deliver to you the best and most concise information we can to enable you to “get out there” and produce the images YOU WANT.

Looking forward to seeing you on the course!

Andy
