"Digital Wildlife Photography - Understanding the Basics"
Beginner & Entry Level
10am - 5pm, Wednesday, 1st October 2008
with
Wildlife in Pixels & Bob Rigby Photographic Ltd
The aim of this course is to help you on your way to taking better wildlife and nature images by helping you get the best out of one of your greatest assets – YOU!
Eight thousand pound lenses and five thousand pound camera bodies do not make you take great pictures, good images come from a combination of your mind and eye.
Your mind has a picture in it; we need to get your eye to recognize that picture when it sees it and then you need to be able to understand how to get in a position to take that picture with the equipment at your disposal.

So on this course we’ll be looking at how to do that in a simple, practical and non-technical way that you will easily understand whether you are 17 or 70!
We’ll be looking at photographing subjects you can easily find on your doorstep as “practice makes perfect”, and how to get the best out of perhaps limited recourse to equipment.
Topics such as quality of light and how to use natural light to your advantage, time of day, and indeed how to get close to your subjects will all be examined in detail.

We’ll also be looking at how to get the best from your camera body and how to get the right exposure; when to choose Aperture priority (Av) and Shutter priority (Tv) and how to decide on using some exposure compensation.
**Please ensure that you bring your equipment with you, and during the lunchtime interval and after the workshop ends I’ll be happy to look at some of your images with you so please feel free to bring some of your best pictures on a disc or memory card.**
There will be plenty of time throughout the day for any questions you have, in fact your questions are an integral part of the workshop so please feel free to “ask away”, and if you have questions that are not covered during the workshop PLEASE feel free to ask during the coffee and lunch breaks, or after the course has concluded for the day.
It is our sole endeavour to deliver to you the best and most concise information we can to enable you to “get out there” and produce the images YOU WANT.
Looking forward to seeing you on the course!
